B’da Varsity Teaching Hospital to be completed in 18 months

A university Teaching Hospital will see the light of day in Bamenda in no distant future if the 18 months deadline given by the Minister of Public Health André Mama Fouda to the contractor “Alliances Construction Cameroon” is respected.
                André Mama Fouda officially launched works on the new Bamenda Regional University Teaching Hospital in the neighbourhoodof  Ntambang, Bamenda III Sub Division on May 3, 2016.
                The FCFA 15 billion worth project with FCFA 10 billion to build and FCFA 5 billion to equip a state of the art health facility will have 121 hospital beds.
                The project is conceived and designed to reduce morbidity, mortality and reduce the number of medical evacuations to Yaoundé.
The level II University Teaching Hospital André Mama Fouda revealed will offer services such as Obstetrics, Cardiology, Neurology, Dentistry, CD scanning, delivery rooms, medical and surgical hospitalization, intensive care unit setc is a special offer of the Head of State, Paul Biya through triennial emergency plan.
                On his part, the General Manager of the Contracting Company, El AnbriSaoudi was upbeat that his company will deliver the highly expected project in due time.
                The Fon of Nkwen in whose fondom the Hospital will be built thanked government for thinking about the health of the people. 

“God has done it for the Nkwenfondom, Bamenda and the North West region. We have waited for the project and Nkwen sons and daughters in the country and abroad have been eager to see the project take off since it was announced. It was a day for our fondom when the Minister of Public Health finally came to launch construction works of the hospital that will change the face of the fondom and Bamenda” he noted.
                The D.O of Bamenda III, Ayuk Walters Tarkang said the population had been expecting the hospital project since 2014 when the land was offered, expropriation for public use signed and those with property there paid off adding that it will cut down evaluation cost for some delicate health cases.
                From Bamenda, André Mama Fouda proceeded to the South West region where a similar project is expected to be launched.
