SDO launches war on sit-tight retired civil servants

By Doh Bertrand Nua in Kumba
The new Senior Divisional Officer of Meme Division, Chamberlin Ntou’ouNdong has embarked on an operation to cleanse the public service in the division by sending away all retired civil servants still lingering in sundry government offices in the division. The Senior Civil Administrator started the cleansing at his own office where two workers who are said to have due retirement some ten years ago were all send to their houses in other to give away space to the youths. The SDO, Chamberlin Ntou’ouNdong,  furtherthundered out the warnings on every stop in the various services in the division on the occasion of his three day visit to the services in the division on Monday April 24, Tuesday April 25 and May 2, 2017.
Speaking at the Delegation of Basic, the SDO ordered the Divisional Delegate,SabasAtem, to forward to him as a matter of urgency all the names of teachers alongside staff of the delegation who are due retirement but are still refusing to leave their positions for others.  According to him “immediately the names reach my office I will have their salaries suspended and their offices sealed while their files are forwarded to Yaounde” promised the SDO. He added that such civil servants who always claim that they are waiting for their respective ministries to send them on retirement will have a tough time with his reign in the division as SDO.
Reacting to the SDO’s order, the Divisional Delegate of Basic Education promised to do as requested by the Meme boss and with immediate effect. However, the question which is left handing is to whether the divisional delegate who looks physically tired and not willing to retire and according observers was equally due retirement some 10 years ago will have his name included among the names of officials to be send home.

SDO Castigates Non Promotion of Staff
The SDO while in his tour to the various services placed at his disposal in the Division castigated the non-promotion of staff by service heads. At the Divisional Delegation of Secondary education, the SDO urged the Divisional delegate, Mr. Akwo John Eyoh to do recommendation of staff in his delegation for promotion by the Ministry. Ntou’ouNdong Chamberlin recounted that it will be very abnormal for a teacher who was posted in a rural area to remain in same position for more than 20 years without any transfer or promotion. To him every worker who hasn’t got a quarrel letter from his hierarchy has the right after serving for some time to be promoted to another position. He warned all public office holders, who have taken their positions as an opportunity to feed fat, empower and enrich their families, friends and relatives at the detriment of others.
