K’ba: Married couples told to be prayerful

By Johnson BatuoKumba
Married couples in Kumba have been exhorted to be faithful to one another and to always pray and supplicate to God in order to muster strength to overcome the evil machinations of the devil.
Reverend Father Che Leonard of the Catholic Mission Kosala, Kumba II subdivision, made the exhortation recently as he solemnized the marriages of three catholic couples.
In his homily drawn from the book of Genesis 2:20-24, he reminded the couples and the other persons present that marriage was instituted by God and that God created Eve from the ribs of Adam to strengthen their union until the death of one of the partners.
He prayed the couples to bear in mind that temptation will always emerge in a marriage but advised them to be tolerant, patient, open and frank to one another and that they should pray and fast always in order to muster spiritual strength to overcome any temptation.

The couples later exchanged marriage rings and recited the marriage vows as said by the priest.
Among the three couples were Mangieb Mathias Ashu and NsoNdangTabe Dorothy who have been married since for over 32 years.
Mangeb Mathias Ashu revealed to The Median that he decided to solemnize his marriage in the church in order to renew his marriage commitment with God; draw closer to God and also reaffirm to his wife NsoNdangTabe Dorothy that only death would separate him from her.
All the three couples and the catholic faithful present received the sacrament of the Holy Communion.
