Trespassers on UB Land to be Evicted

Unauthorized occupants of lands belonging to the University of Buea are set to be evicted in the weeks ahead. The information was made known by the Vice chancellor of UB, Prof. Horace Ngomo Manga in a recent communique.
                In the communique titled “Encroachment into the University Land” Horace Ngomo warns the illegal land occupants to quit or the University will take all necessary measures to reclaim its land.
The communique follows an inspection visit undertaken by the university authorities to ascertain the boundaries of the university’s duly titled land surface area. At the end of the inspection tour, the various officials made it known that the university land has been heavily encroached into.
                The VC further called on those who have encroached into the university land in the area of along the perimeter road from Bulu junction down to the Bulu blind center to remove their unauthorized pillars and various constructions and vacate immediately. All those who own these various structures have been denied access through the university land.

                According to information in a local paper, in 2016, Buea chiefs sued for more land to be ceded to them from the university of Buea excess land. The latter addressed to the presidency-till date is yet to receive appropriate response. UB land recently has been a hub for land grabbing scandals in Buea. Several people have claimed legitimate ownership of university own land by forcefully possessing and passing for landlords.
                Disgruntled occupants have been urged to contact the office for Development, physical plant and infrastructure. Indicated the communique
                Persons constructing on the area bodering the road from Mile 17 towards Molyko, have also been asked to quit these premises with immediate effect.
