The draft budget drawn to balance in revenue and expenditure at the tune of FCFA 500 million according to Mayor respects all the budgetary principles especially that of budgetary equilibrium. He explained that, the Nguti council draft budget for 2019 was fundamentally investment oriented with a peculiarity of projecting revenue forecast at 53% (265 000 000frs) and an expenditure forecast of 47% (235 000 000frs) up from the 40% required by law.
While harping on his projects for 2019, Mayor Tong told his councilors that, a cursory lookat their Annual Investment Plan (AIP) will leave them with a feeling of utter satisfaction with highlights been the launching of tenders for the construction of a Guest House with initial allocation of FCFA 40 million, construction of a block of two classrooms in Dinte, the construction of a bridge over River Bakebe in Ayang as well as road works to ease trade in the area, commencement of construction works on the Ngwata-Mbetta-Fonwen road to disenclave the area further, maintenance of farm-to-market roads and health facilities, the construction of the Manyemen Motor Park and many others.

The Mayor reiterated that, if the prevailing context allows, the investment allocation for 2019 will be realized at100% given that funds are entirely available. He however expressed doubts over recurrent expenditure as a result of constant reduction in revenue by the day because of low revenue collection caused by the ongoing crisis.
Mayor Tong saluted the team spirit in the council which to him earned them FCFA 25 million reward as the most improved performance council in the whole of South West Region. He added that, if not of the poor council recovery performance caused by the crisis, the council would have won FCFA 75 million. While lauding the efforts of government funding bodies like IDA and C2D3 for show of recognition,, the Mayor revealed the long awaited treasury advance of 17.5 million applied for by the council was recently paid and will help lift the guest house project.
Visibly happy Mayor Tong George Enoh as well nodded the bravery and deep concern of the councilors and the entire council team in their immense contributions to the smooth functioning of the council amidst the socio-political tension adding that it was thanks to such team work and show commitment that the council through the Mayor and the Municipal Treasurer won three different awards as best Mayor and Municipal Treasurer of the year 2018 respectively from The Guardian Post, The Scoop and Life Time Newspapers.
