Kumba III Sub-Division:

Kang Barombi gets a new Chief
By Doh Bertrand Nua in Kumba
The power tussle between two brothers of Kang Barombi, a village found in Kumba III Sub-Division on who will finally emerge as chief of the village has been laid to rest following the enthronement and installation of a new chief, Chief Akama Jacob recently. The new chief who is a teacher by profession was installed by the Divisional officer for Kumba III Sub-Division, GilbetBadena. While installing him to his functions, the DO called on him to ensure peace and order reins in the village as well as challenged him to ensure the unity of the villagers and bring together the warring factions in the village for the common good of the people of Kang Barombi.
The DO equally warned on anyone who may attempt causing disorder in the community as well as called on the under disgruntled factions to all rally their support behind the new chief in order for peace to reign to the village.

The newly enthroned chief, Akama Jacob takes over from his late brother, Chief AkamaKilise Jonathan who died last year. The heavily attended ceremony was witness by a massive turnout of the villagers of Kang Barombi, elites of the village and other authorities. It was equally in the presence of the paramount ruler of the Barombis, Chief Dr. Diongote Joseph who doubles as the minister delegate in the ministry of external relations in charge of the common world.
After his installation, the new chief revealed the battle for supremacy has been laid to rest and it was time for peace to reign. He however pleaded on those not happy with his enthronement to join him for the common good of the village "I am a Christian and I belief I am going to apply my Christian values" he promised. He equally promised no favoritism of family members or relatives/friends as well as corruption will be tolerated while administering his people as chief.
