Mysterious fire targets motorbikes in Kumba

In less than a month now in the city of Kumba, in Meme division South West region of Cameroon, a mysterious fire is said to be consuming motor bikes to the disbelief of many people.
Victims say the origin of the fire is hardly known; but that you only realize that the fire has taken on your bike, leaving you helpless.
A recent case of a bike consumed by a mysterious fire occurred on 16 February 2017 in front of the Kumba Banquet Hall, where the motor bike of a boy was almost reduced to ashes.
As explained by the bike rider whose name The Median could not get, he carried a woman in front of the Kumba main market to drop her around the Kumba District Hospital. But on negotiating the Catholic junction bend he saw something like lightening flashing on his bike. On taking a keener look he saw fire under his bike. The boy said he and the lady immediately jumped over from the bike.

Onlookers and fellow bike riders who rushed to the scene tried in vain to put out the fire using water and sand.
This latest incident has brought to seven the number of motor bikes consumed by fire.

It is alleged by some bike riders that those whose bikes are being consumed by the mysterious fire are those who refused to respect the Ghost town. Some believe that those whose bikes have been burnt have scores to settle in their villages.
