Drowning in Blood & Tears as killings, Looting Get Rife

Unwanted
burning, shocking killings and wide-ranging mayhem has for over a week gripped
several parts of the Southwest region, opposing government forces and forces
loyal to the Ambazonia Defense Forces (ADF), have led to several loss of lives
and property. These recent mayhem has inundated four Divisions of the region
for over a week leaving many fleeing to bushes and becoming more frustrated.
Lifeless
Gendarme Found in Mundemba
The lifeless body of a Gendarmerie
officer has reportedly been discovered in Mudemba, Ndian Division of the
Southwest Region. The corpse was discovered after the officer and one other
went missing since the February 27, after a clash between forces loyal to the
‘Ambazonia Defense Force’ and government forces. The February 27 clash it is
alleged led to the dead of three ‘Ambazonia’ soldiers. The body of the Gendarme
was reportedly recovered Friday march 2, 2018. He was allegedly killed by
suspected secessionists before been thrown into the river.
Two Homes
set Ablaze in Muyenge by ADF Forces
At least two homes have been set
ablaze in the village of Muyenge in Muyuka Sub-Division by youths alleged to be
linked to the ‘Ambazonia’ struggle. According to reports we gathered, the
houses were set ablaze after news spread like wild fire to ADF soldiers that
some youths were in Muyenge collecting money in the name of the restoration
course.
The other ADF forces then stormed
the village and were informed their purported colleagues had vamoose into thin
air after collecting close to FCFA one million. It is this frustration we
learnt made the angry ADF elements to set the residents of some persons ablaze.
However, many top authorities have now fallen prey to scammers under the name
of the ‘Ambazonia’ struggle all in the name of the unknown and fear of been
assassinated.
Soldiers
Storm Bole Bakundu
The village of Bole Bakundu in
Mbonge Sub-Division where few people had started returning to their homes after
several weeks in the bushes were reportedly pushed back to the bushes after
several shots from soldiers on Tuesday. Reports have it that even a family that
had gathered to bury the remains of their family member who died in the bush
was pushed away by the soldiers, abandoning the corpse on the ground.

Vehicle Seized?
Still in Bole, unconfirmed reports
have it that one of the Hilux vehicles belonging to SOROUBAT, the road
construction company charged with the tarring of the Kumba-Mbonge-EkondoTiti
stretch has been seized by unknown persons. This act is said to have once more
cause the villagers to flee for safety.
Mungo Ndor
Deserted
Government forces are reported to
have attacked the village of MungoNdor in Nguti Sub-Division, Kupe Muaneguba
Division of the Southwest Region on Tuesday. We got reports that they were
unwanted damages inflicted on the population. The motive behind the wreck is
still very unclear. However, Nguti has witness pockets of resistance of recent
in the ongoing crisis. It will be recalled a student Gendarme was shot dead by
unknown gunmen weeks back in Nguti.
Military
allegedly Burnt Motorbikes in Ekombe, Ebonji, Teke, Marumba
Government forces are reported to
have adopted a new strategy of burning down motorbikes in some restive areas in
Meme Division of the Southwest region. Close to fifty motorbikes were reportedly
set ablaze by the military in the localities of Ebonji and Teke in Tombel and
Konye Sub-Divisions respectively.
Meantime,
the same move has been taken in Mbonge.
Reports have it that on Wednesday, uniform officers stormed the localities of
Marumba and Ekombe searching for motorbikes after mounting multiple control
check points and setting them on fire. This move according many will leave the
struggling youths more helpless and jobless. Some of these youths revealed how
they are still to balance the amounts they borrowed to purchase such
motorbikes.
Konye gets
own share, Dipenda village burnt down, four Civilians killed, Officers injured
For close to two weeks now, Konye
Sub-Division has become the hottest battle ground across the Southwest Region
following deadly exchanges between government forces and forces loyal with the
‘Ambazonians’.
In the course of the exchanges that
ensued for over two weeks, the village of Dipenda was reportedly burnt down by
the soldiers in search of the ADF forces. Reports also have it that about 12
elderly persons were also arrested in the course of the struggle for failing to
help the soldiers in combating the separatists.
The Konye attacks we got also led to
the dead of four civilians meanwhile several officers were wounded. Before the
attacks, trucks of a timber exploitation company along the Kumba-Mamfe road
were set ablaze and the workers beaten and warned never to come back to the
area. We learnt the attacked that led to the burning of the trucks and
caterpillars was carried out by 12 unknown youths.
