MINEPAT Staff Arrested Over Ambazonia Link

After several unsuccessful attacks at the Meme SDO’s residence as well as in several other neighbourhoods in Kumba, an Ambazonia financial agent has been arrested on the instructions of the Meme SDO, Chamberlin Ntou’ou Ndong.
            Njeya Julius Bawe, a Contractor with the Meme Divisional Delegation of Economy, Planning and Regional Development was arrested on Wednesday 28 March 2018 at the Meme SDO’s office after serious interrogation.
            According the SDO, Julius Bawe is suspected of being the link between Ambazonia leaders in the diaspora and the fighters in the bushes. He receives funds from the diaspora which he uses to finance the activities of the fighters.
            “When information filtered to me about a man at the Delegation of MINEPAT who has been going to the forest to distribute money to the Ambazonia soldiers, i immediately summoned the Divisional Delegate of Minepat, Buinda Godlove to furnish me with a list of all the names and phone numbers of his staff,” Ntou’ou Ndong narrated.

While at the SDO’s office a roll call was done before the SDO asked all others but the suspect to go out.  “He first of all shed tears and later gathered courage and said he was dealing with them in the forest. He said he has connections with the Ambazonia in the Diaspora who have been sponsoring their fellow friends back at home, especially here in Meme Division” Ntou’ouNdong revealed his exchange with Julius. .
            The SDO furthere narrated that Njeya Julius confessed that he has been receiving money from the diaspora and that anytime the money comes he collect and go to their various camps in the forest around Meme Division to distribute. He admitted that he just returned from the forest to distribute the last quarter of FCFA 700 000 in Kwa-Kwa, Mbonge Sub-Division.
            He equally admittedaccording to the SDO’s narrations that he is the architect behind all theoperations that have been taking place in Meme Division in general and Kumba in particular. “He said he drew the map of the up-station in Kumba and gave to the Ambazonia soldiers to help them locate certain areas and my residence” SDO revealed.
            Njeya Julius Bawe, 37 years old hails from Donga-Mantung Division of the North West Region of Cameroon. He was recruited in the Public service in 2009, through the 25000 public recruitment. He is presently been locked up at the Kumba Central police station where he is helping in investigations.
