Time for Councilors to ‘Chop’ as Senatorial Campaigns Begin

CPDM Scribe, Jean Nkuete

Following the publication of candidates’ lists by Elections Cameroon, various political parties started campaigning for senatorial elections on Saturday 10 March 2018.
The 252 candidates who are vying for the 70 seats into the senate are finalizing last minute strategies to entice voters. For two weeks councilors will be cajoled and pampered by the various contenders, and as usual money will change hands as nothing will be left to chance.
Speculative reports say the ruling CPDM may grab the 70 seats due to the fact that she controls the majority of the councils in all the regions.

Jean Nkuete, Secretary General of the Central Committee of the CPDM is quoted to have told the 10 regional permanent delegates of the party that they are in a competition and the objective is to win.
In the North West region, four political parties, the CPDM, SDF, UDP and NUDP will be in competition. CPDM, SDF, UNDP, ANDP are running in SW
