The traditional council of Kake 1 in Kumba I subdivision has introduced their new chief to the Meme SDO, Koulbout Aman David. The introduction Ndoh Oscar Obase as the new traditional ruler of Kake I Bongwana Village, followed consultative talks to select a new chief of the village after the passing of late Chief Tata Okiah Namata Henry Elangwe in February 2014 .
The consultative talks that took place at the Kake I Bongwana Traditional council hall recently, saw the participation of entire village including the Special Adviser to the Prime Minister, Ndoh Bertha, who is also the new queen (wife of the new chief) of Kake I Bongwana Village.

Setting the ball rolling for the consultative talks the Secretary of the Kake I Bongwana traditional council Butame Adolph Sakwe, disclosed that though they are still mourning the disappearance of the late Chief, who was also the paramount ruler of the Bakundu clan, the kingmakers of the village had held internal consultative talks and have chosen one of their illustrious sons to replace the late chief.
He opined that a chief may disappear from the throne but the throne must continue to exist and must be occupied.
The Village scribe hinted that after a peaceful understanding in a conclave of the kingmakers of the village, they chose Ndoh Oscar Obase as the new chief of the village.
He observed that Oscar Obase enjoys the overwhelming support of the entire village. He assured the SDO that the succession at the Kake 1 throne would be hitch-free with Oscar Obase as the candidate.
However as administrative procedure demands, the SDO threw back the question to the villagers whether there were any persons contesting the choice of Ndoh Oscar Obase. The response was a thunderous “no” followed by a rousing applause and standing ovation given the new chief by the about 1500-man crowd that turned out to witness the talks.
With this development the SDO went ahead to endorse Ndoh Oscar Obase as the new 2nd class chief of Kake I Bongwana, with  a call on him to accelerate the development of Kake I village, collaborate with the administration, combat high crime wave and enhance hygiene and sanitation.
The SDO announced that in the days ahead he will submit his report to the Minister of State in charge of Territorial Administration and Decentralization so that the official installation of the chief can be scheduled as soon as possible.
Chief Ndoh Oscar Obase was born in 1954 in Kake I Bongwana village. He attended the Basel Mission Primary School Kake and later moved to the Basel Mission Boys School Kumba Town. His quest for knowledge later saw him enrolling at the then National High School Fiango Kumba. He was then employed in the Ministry of Mines and Power in Yaounde. He later gained admission into the South West Missouri State University USA and graduated with a B,Sc in Agriculture. He later bagged an M Sc. in Agricultural Technology from the Central Missouri State University in the USA.
