CRTV embezzlement saga:

Charles Ndongo sinks Vamoulke further
AmadouVamoulke
AmadouVamoulke, former GM of CRTV, has been questioned at the Special Criminal Court in a new case just three days after the start hearing in the embezzlement matter involving him and GervaisMendoZe. The new matter also relates to Vamoulke’s management of CRTV.
The matter takes a new twist following results of an internal audit commissioned by Vamoulke’s successor, Charles PythagoreNdongo.
The former GM who is presently incarcerated in the Kondengui prison was called up to explain the purchase without tender of the rights of transmission of certain major football competitions. Vamoulke was grilled for close to four hours on 3 August.
Charles Ndongo alleges that Vamoulke violated the procurement procedure in connection with the purchase of these rights.

It is understood that the prosecutors of the Special Criminal Court did not find any incriminating evidence against Vamoulke in the initial audiovisual tax fraud estimated at 3.9 billion fcfa.                                                                           Vamoulke’s legal counsel argues that her client could not falsify an account that is operated at the central treasury.
Barrister Alice Nkom says her client is “a victim of political and judicial fury.”
She says in the first case the judges were put under pressure to charge somebody who did not steal a dime. That even the hired finance experts at the Special Criminal Court could not prove that AmadouVamoulke had stolen a dime.
“Yet my client is still kept in jail,” Alice Nkom cried allowed.
