25 Priests and Deacons ordained in Limbe |
The Bishop of the Diocese of BueaImmmanuelBushuon
Saturday 26, 2018 ordained 13 deacons and 12 priests all missionary sons of
St.Mulumbaat the holy family parish new town Limbe.
The
bishop took his sermon from Isaiah 61:1-3 which talks on the power of God and
the good news for the salvation of believers, the bishop called the newly ordained
priests and deacons to proclaim the word of god with everybody just as Christ
did and to be one with God. He said the new ordained priests and deacons should
be servant to Christians so that they may all make it to heaven.
He
challenge the new priests and deacons to live up to the demands of their new
lives as ordained ones which is to pray, read the word of God, preach the word
and teach the words to everybody without bias. He reminded them that to be
ordained it means you have been chosen by God to do his work and be united with
him in all you do.
Asked
about the unpopular missionary of the celebrant and the fact that majority of
them are Nigerians, the bishop said it is because the missionary is a new one
found in Nigeria and that many bishops around the world are already asking for
assistance from the ordained priests. He said the reason for most of them being
Nigerians is because they are of higher level and have been for training way
longer than Cameroonians in the missionary.
To
Christians, bishop Bushu they should remind the priests to preach and teach the
word of God and not something else. He also asked them to pray for the newly
ordained during their down moments because as priests and deacons they are
faced with temptations and challenges.
On
behalf of the priests, the secretary of the missionary sons of St.Mulumba,
Anthony CheneyeA. expressed his joy for the support that was given to them
during their training by Christians, family and friends. He said they are going
to follow the example of Christ to be good servants of God.
“I am
grateful to God for the ordination as a deacon and I believe this will give
hopes to the young ones who are aspiring to become priests or deacons to follow
their dreams” says Rev Francis Adomokhas, a new deacon.
Speaking
on behalf of the congregation, the interim chairman Mr. Wasso Norbert thanked
bishopBushu for his visit to the parish for the priestly and deaconate
ordination. He said they will be happy if the bishops visit the parish often.
He equally expressed his joy at the number of priests and deacons ordained for
it is first in the history of the parish to host ordination of such a number.
The
Missionary Sons of St. Mulumba was created 10 years ago by Rev Denis Marius
John Paul Okafor to give hope to youths aspiring to be priests, brothers and
the likes. The congregation was founded in the diocese of Buea through the
acceptance of Bishop Immanuel Bushu. Saint Mulumba is one of the saints of the
holy martyrs of Uganda.
