The divisional delegates for basic and secondary
education for Fako have been tasked to make sure pupils and students fully
participate in this year’s national day celebration which has as theme
“Cameroonian citizens let us remain united in diversity and preserve peace for
a stable, indivisible and prosperous Cameroon”.
The 2nd
ASDO for Fako, Bejini Richard Otto II, made the call during the first
preparatory meeting ahead of the 46th edition of the 20th May, holding on
Monday May 7 at the Limbe1 council hall. The meeting brought together
stakeholders and head of services concerned with the organization of the
National Day event.
During the
meeting, the divisional delegate of youth affairs and civic education, Isaac
Mbua Ekembe presented a report of activities of last year’s edition. He noted
the low turnout at the grandstand and the late start of the ceremonies.
Recommendations
were taken to make sure this year’s event goes on hitch free. A rundown of
preparatory activities to run from Monday 14 May to Saturday 19 May was
presented. The activities include civilian march past rehearsals in all
schools, clean up campaigns, camp fire, football competition, unity walk by all
stakeholders among others.

committees were put in place to prepare the grounds for a befitting
celebration. They comprise of the general overview committee, health committee,
financial committee, security committee amongst others.
The
committees were urged to work together and hold regular meetings so as to be
well prepared for the celebration.
