Buea Council Buries Five Workers in One Day
The Five workers of the Buea council who died in a
ghastly car crash on the Ombe Bridge along the Limbe-Mutengene highway on 15
April 2018 were last Friday laid side by side at the esplanade of the city hall
pending their burial later in the day.

The hugely-attended and grief-packed funeral ceremony at
the council chambers was marked by series of prayers and heart-touching
speeches. All the prayers and speeches had one central message; that God should
prevent such a tragedy ever occurring again in the council.
The five
workers: David, Wotany, Eugene, Elvis and Emmanuel, all in their late twenties
and early thirties, died in a ghastly car crash on the Ombe Bridge, as they
were driving back to Buea after attending a party in Limbe.
Speaking
at the funeral, the Mayor of Buea was discernibly inconsolable.
“We
sincerely thank all of you for coming to share in our grief. We thank you for
your prayers and support to the families as well as to the council especially
in these very trying circumstances. We pray that the Lord will guide you back
to your respective destinations safely as he brought you here. For our departed
brothers I can only say Rest in Perfect Peace,” said Mayor Patrick Esunge Ekema
in tears.
As the
deceased were being ferried to their final resting places in their homes and
villages, the Men of God present prayed for courage and divine protection of
their surviving families and the Buea council.
