Angers aceman Toko Ekambi has scored 17 goals so far in the French Ligue 1

Cameroonian international Karl Toko Ekambi is part of a three man shortlist for the trophy of best African player of France.
A player of Angers, Karl Toko Ekambi has had a brilliant season in the French Ligue One that has saw him several solicitations during the January transfer window, declining various offers for his services and deciding to stay with Angers in France.
In 34 games this season, Toko Ekambi has scored 17 goals (44% of the team’s goals this year) and is currently the 4th best scorer in Ligue 1. He is going against Wahbi Khazri and Bertrand Traore as the other two finalists for the award. Karl Toko Ekambi averages 1 goal every 163mins, and with 4 decisive passes to his name.

The Marc-Vivien Foe award which is in recognition to former Indomitable Lions player Marc-Vivien Foe since its inception has never been won by a Cameroonian. And according to reports, the hoodoo might be broken this year as Karl Toko Ekambi as compared to the other finalists has a better record in Ligue 1.
The best African player of the French football championship will be given this Monday May 14, 2018.
