The bishop of the Buea diocese His Lordship bishop Bushu
Immanuel has called on Christians of holy family parish new town Limbe to
preach love in their daily lives despite temptations because Christ has
foreseen trials for all eternity.
He
echoed these words during a special mass
to end his five days pastoral visit to the holy family parish new town Limbe on
Sunday 13 May 2018 at the premises of the church. Asked about any message on
the Anglophone crisis, the Bishop said they have resulted to prayers since they
have written so a lot of messages on the effect of crisis on education and
memorandum to the president explaining the crisis and nothing has been done.
The
Bishop also called on Christians of the denomination to send their children to
catholic schools only so that the children can learn more about the catholic
doctrine. He said the catholic children are born to be catholic and so should
die as catholic and so should go to catholic schools because they will live the
faith throughout their studies excerpt for desperate situations. And that if
they go to non-Catholic school where no catholic doctrine is taught there, they
will end up losing their faith.
He
mentioned some challenges affecting Catholic schools notably liquidity problems
which cause late payment of teachers. He said it is the Church’s priority to
educate children up to the highest level but some parents find difficulties
paying school fees which is used to pay teachers and run the administration.
The mass
was characterized by a sermon which dwelled on the love of God, his lordship
offered the sacrament of confirmation, presentations of gifts by Christians to
the bishop and final blessing from the bishop.
On his
part, the interim chairman of the parish pastoral council, Mr. Wasso Norbert
thanked the Bishop for his visit, saying it has re-enforced the faith of
Christians of the parish. He promised that the holy family parish will keep on
growing spiritually and materially. He said the five days of the visit has
given the bishop the opportunity to feel and see the vibrancy of the parish and
its schools in new town Limbe.
The
pastoral visit is an activity that is carried out by Bishops to parishes at
least once every year. Bishop Bushu’s
5-day visit started on Wednesday 9 May 2018. During his visit, he carried out
baptism of some Christians, blessed marriages and had talks with francophone
Christians.
