The official home coming to Buea of the newly elected moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon PCC, on 5 January 2015 could only be likened to Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. It was a beehive of faithful drawn from almost all the Presbyteries of the PCC in the South West and beyond that converged on the premises of the synod office in Buea up-station to welcome Rev. Samuel Fonki Forba and the Synod Clerk, Rev. George Babilla Funchang.
Like the buzz of a swarm of bees, the noise that emanated from the enchanted and stampeding crowds was overwhelming. It was telling of the joy of the faithful some of whom were having their first glimpse and communion with the new moderator, after his brilliant election in Bamenda few weeks back. They sang, cried and chanted Halleluya, as the long motorcade that escorted the moderator and synod clerk from the Mungo Bridge made its way into the synod premises.

Addressing the enthusiastic crowd of faithful on the occasion, Rev. Fonki made a solemn pledge to keep the PCC house cleaner and more vibrant than he met it. He promised to institute reforms that will move the church many strides ahead.
Apart from intensifying spirituality within the church the moderator underscored the expedient need to also fortify the church’s finances.
Hailing his predecessors for a wonderful job, Rev. Fonki promised he would do all within his power to keep the flag of the church flying even higher. He said his dream is to forge a united and ever-growing congregation.
Speaking earlier, the chairman of the board of trustees of the PCC, Mr. Ngale Kinge Jacob, exhorted the Reverends Fonki and Babilla to do just their work, all their work and nothing but their work. He urged them to work with diligence, commitment and with the fear of God. He advised them not to allow themselves to be derailed by any misguided individual(s) or groups of individuals.
As for the faithful, the board chairman enjoined them to lend their total support to the new moderator and synod clerk, so that they can succeed in their challenging and exalting tasks. Mr. Ngalle Kinge at once cautioned the faithful to shun unnecessary criticisms which he said will only serve to perturb the Moderator and mar the progress of the church. He exhorted them to fish for more faithful to join the PCC family.
Among the many dignitaries present were the mayor of Buea Patrick Esunge Ekema and his predecessor, Senator Charles Mbella Moki.
