The people’s call:

Mayor Patrick Ekema will run for section president in Fako III
Mayor Ekema Patrick declares for Fako III section president
-23 CPDM Sub-Sections endorse his candidature

23 of the 30 sub-sections that make up the Fako III section of the CPDM party have validated Patrick EkemaEsunge- mayor of the Buea Council- to stand as president of the Section few days after Senator MbellaMoki Charles announced he would not run for reelection.
The popular call from the militants was the main activity last 29 September 2015 at the C.B.C school field at Mile 16, Buea. The Mayor’s endorsement falls within the framework of putting to application the presidential arête of August 12, 2015 calling for the 4th renewal exercise of the party’s basic organs across the country.
Among the 23 sub-section that declared their support for Mayor Ekema were Bolifamba Mile 16, Bokwaongo-Nanga, Bojongo Centre, Molyko, and Wokoko sub-sections, as well as some Buea chiefs who were present.
In the welcome address presented by the CPDM sub-section president of Mile 16, appreciation was given to the Divisional Officer of Buea, Paul Kouam for authorising the gathering, that according to him was more than necessary for the smooth run of activities that brought together thousands of party militants, onlookers and even militants of opposition parties.

The gathering was also according to Hon. Lyonga John Effande-2nd deputy mayor to the Buea Council, a first step to correcting the poor leadership experiences of the past; notably 2002, 2007 and 2013 during which winners never came back to show appreciation for their victory.
While thanking the various sub-section militants, and chiefs for their trust and confidence, the mayor of Buea revealed he was accepting the call from the people to run as president because the pressure from within and without was becoming too much to bear. “I hereby declare to take the responsibility and the challenge,” Ekema said, while pledging that if elected he would be a leader and not a boss.
The Mayor used the occasion to reveal that he has acquired party cards that would be distributed free for men, women, and youths of the various sub-sections in Fako III section.
Also present to support the Mayor were Chief Mokoto-former mayor of Muyuka, Mrs. EtondeMbua-incumbent president of WCPDM Fako III, Deputy Mayors of Buea, CPDM bigwigs, traditional chiefs and notables, the Fako Lawyers Association President-Barrister Agbor Felix Balla-amongst others.
The hugely attended gathering was graced with traditional music and rituals.
