B’da Varsity & Express Union strike partnership deal

The University of Bamenda popularly referred as the University of the future has signed a business agreement with Express Union, one of the leading money transfer agencies with agencies in and out of Cameroon.
                The partnership was sealed on April 13, 2017 at the campus of the University of Bamenda in Bambili where the Vice Chancellor of UBa Professor Theresa Nkuo-Akenji and the Chief Executive Officer of Express Union NghoghoChares, while signing for the their respective institutions accepted to abide by the terms of the Memorandum of Agreement.
                The agreement which the Deputy Vice Chancellor of UBa in charge of Research, Cooperation and Relations with the Business World, Professor Sarah Anyang Agbor who was at the forefront of negotiations has described as a “timely and welcome initiative and innovation” permits students of the said University to pay their fees through the innovative and user friendly platforms of Express Union.
                Speaking at the brief but significant ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of UBa Professor Theresa Nkuo-Akenji thanked the Chief Executive Officer of Express Union and his top management for initiating the partnership which he said will be very beneficial not only to students but also to the staff and support staff of the University.
                She lauded other interventions of Express Unions in the University prior to the signing such as the donation of trash cans, notice boards, books to the Library, support during women’s day activities amongst others while pleading that they should do more especially with the upcoming University Games that the University of Bamenda is hosting for the first time since it was created in 2010.

                The Chief Executive Officer of Express Union NghoghoChares in his speech expressed gratitude to the University of Bamenda for opening their doors to them and for opting to join other universities in signing a business agreement with Express Union, a leading money transfer agency which he boasted has over 700 branches in the ten regions of Cameroon.
                Amongst the advantages of the partnership, he cited an end to long queues that student subject themselves into while trying to pay fees and the convenience that accompanies it given that the fees can be paid 24 hours a day and within the seven days in a week even on public holidays as most of the transactions can be done electronically.
                NghoghoChares also revealed that in no distant future, Express Union will install teller machines at the University that will enable students, staff and support staff within the University that have accounts with Express Union to do their transactions with the help of electronic cards.
                Speaking to the press after the ceremony, NjomoChristelle a faithful customer of Express Union said he was happy with the agreement as it will bring to an end the long queues that students pass through while paying fees in banks.
