-Wife of ESIR officer also kidnapped

Unknown gunmen are reportedly demanding FCFA 5 million
from the family and work place of kidnapped Kumba City council Town planner in
order for him to secure his freedom.

Nnoko was kidnapped on Tuesday July 17, 2018 at the Mile one neighbourhood in
Kumba, we learned. Reports we couldn’t independently confirm have it that Epie
Nnoko had escaped his Sustainer Street residence with his family to the family
compound of his wife as a result of the constant gun battle that engulfed the
area.
We
gathered he was whisked off to an unknown destination by gunmen on a bike while
trying to get some valuables from his abandoned compound. It is said Epie’s car
was left behind by his kidnappers. At the moment no one knows the reason behind
Epie’s abduction. Epie it should be recalled was at the front of destruction of
makeshift businesses in Kumba that rendered many jobless.
Still in
the Mile one neighbourhood, the wife of a police officer was reportedly
kidnapped. We gathered that the officer’s wife was kidnapped at their residence
located at Monte Calo neighbourhood.The mile one has now recorded the highest
number of kidnap cases in Kumba as both uniform officers, administrators and
others have been kidnapped in the area.
