Kumba, Meme Division:

Amba boys Ask Residents to Evacuate Risky Areas
-But SDO says residents should stay put
By Doh Bertrand Nua in Kumba
Amba boys have rendered NW and SW almost ungovernable
Hundreds of families resident in Kumba, Chief Town of Meme Division have started fleeing to other regions and towns as a result of worsening Anglophone crisis. The mass exodus of the population follows fear, tension and confusion instilled on population as a result of the constant gun battle that has engulf several neighbourhoods for over a week now.
As others flee because of the constant gun battle between unknown persons and elements of the military, hundreds of other families have been asked to leave their neighbourhoods and relocate to other areas inorder not to be caught in looming gun battles. Those from Mile one, Ngamlikum, Kosala, Mambanda and Three Corners Fiango have all relocated to other neighbourhoods while others have simply fled to other towns and regions.
Since news broke out that unknown gunmen have ordered inhabitants to park out from the said areas, hudreds of taxis, motor bikes and persons have been spotted with bags full of household items either heading to motor parks or relocating to other areas.

In the phase of the tension and confusion, the SDO for Meme, Chamberlin Ntou’ou Ndong has reassured the population of necessary security measures put in place by the state to ensure the safety of the populace and their property.
“I have been informed that the population has received instruction from those boys for them to leave their houses to avoid any attack on them. I want to seize this opportunity to reassure the whole population of Meme Division that the State is taking appropriate security measure to secure them and their property. The SDO and the forces of law and order are working to be sure that Kumba is safe” Ntou’ou Ndong stated.
To him, those asking others to quit their homes are lazy persons that cannot fend for themselves “they should know that those asking them to leave their houses are lazy persons who have refuse to work for themselves and want to seize their property after they have abandoned what they have worked for in 25 to 30 years”.  He added the population should continue to live in peace and go ahead with their own activity knowing that the State is playing its own share to secure Kumba in particular and Meme Division in general.
