Meme Journalists Told to be Responsible

The new Divisional Delegate of Communication for Meme has urged media practitioners in the Division to be fair, objective and socially responsible in the exercise of their duties especially during thee trying and difficult moments the country is going through. Ebane Kome Slesor was speaking during a meeting she had with journalists in the Division at her office on Wednesday 27 June 2018.
            She promised to look into the challenges the journalists presented to her in the course of the meeting ranging from poor collaboration between the delegation and private journalists, poor treatment of journalists by the administration, difficult access to official information, in-fighting amongst journalists among others. 
            “I know the reign has been very difficult and complicated but I hope with good collaboration from my colleagues that you are, we shall together surmount obstacles and challenges in the exercise of our work,” Ebane Kome promised, noting that she is still new in office and needs time to understand the problems faced by journalists so as to find appropriate solutions to them.
            She expressed satisfaction at the frankness of the journalists in the course of the meeting.

            “I am delighted to be the Divisional Delegate for Communication in a strategic division like Meme. I know we are passing through very trying and difficult moments at present, but I hope and pray that the situation will return to normalcy in the nearest future,” she stated.
            At the end of the meeting journalists expressed the hope that things might change for the better in the near future, if the pledges of the Delegate are anything to go by.
            Ebane Kome Slelor takes over from Molua Cynthia Mbu who was transferred to Yaounde as sub-director in the Ministry of Communication.
