Health in Moquo community preoccupy mayor

The entire community of Moquo under Musaka village of Tiko sub division with the leadership of the village notable, Chief Sonne Gilbert gathered to welcome the Mayor of the Tiko municipality as he officially handed over the keys of the newly constructed Moquo health centre to the community, Tuesday June 4, 2014.
    As the saying goes, a healthy people is a wealthy nation, the people through their council chairman while thanking the government for the magnificent building put in place to improve their health conditions, begged for the necessary equipments and staff needed to ensure an effective operation of the health centre for 24hours daily.
The 50 million worth health center which is constructed following the new standards of the national construction of building is intended to improve the working conditions of all health personnel in the area an also the health conditions of the entire community. Realized under the public investment budget, the center came to replace the rented building which the Moquo people have been using since 2008.

    As such, the 1st Deputy Mayor of Tiko council, Eloundou Joseph highlighted that the construction of the center is in meeting of the health challenges of the people of Moquo and also in respect of the government policy of bringing health closer to the people. As such, the Mayor called on the people to jealously guard the master piece and urged the technical staff to work in close collaboration with the chief Sonne Gilbert to keep the health center up to standard.
    The district medical officer for Tiko sub division, Dr. Kamga Simo Cyrille speaking on behalf of members of the Tiko health committee, assured the people of his personal supervision to ensure that the center achieves its necessary goals of improving their health conditions. He went further addressing the issues of inadequate equipments and staff that the old equipments and staff used in the former health center will simply be transferred to the newly constructed by next year adding that the government will ensure adequate equipments and staff in the nearest future for smooth functioning of the health center.
    On his part, the Chief of Musaka, Sonne Gilbert happily expressed words of thanks to the government and authorities that be for such innovation as their women can now safely go through child bearing in their own area without having to travel to Tiko and other nearby villages. However, the chief brought forth some other problems greatly affecting Musaka village especially Moquo community among which was the absence of a secondary school, bad roads caused by heavy duty trucks from quarries in the area.
