D’la-Y’de: A new VIP bus service

An ultra-modern VIP bus transport company, United Express, a fruit of Sino-Cameroon private-private cooperation, was on 21 and 23 January, officially launched in Douala and Yaounde respectively. The launching ceremony was presided over by the SDO for Nfoundi sitting alongside the Cameroon Ambassador to China
With United Express VIP Services, businessness operators and well-to-do travellers who want to do the journey between the nation’s political capital Yaounde and the economic capital Douala, on due time and in comfort and security, should not hesitate to avail themselves at the agences of the company situated in Akwa Douala and EssosYaounde respectively, according to authorities of United Express.
                The ultra-modern, state-of-the-art buses of the nascent company hit the road for the inaugural journey at exactly 5am on Wednesday, 25 January 2017, simultaneously from Douala and Yaounde. And this was sequel to the official launch of its activities in Douala on Saturday 21 January and in Yaounde on Monday 23 January.

                Speaking at the launching ceremony in Yaounde Monday, the GM of United Express, Mr. Kingsley said United Express VIP Bus Services is the fruit of China-Cameroon Private-Private Partnership. It is a joint venture of Kings International Cameroon, the local subsidiary of China-based Hongkong Kings Group.
                Mr. Kingsley told the impressive crowd that gathered to witness the launching that after travel through many countries abroad he saw the need to copy some of the commendable development models of other countries in his country, with a view to improving on the living standards of his fellow countrymen, apart from alleviating poverty and umemployment.
                Solliciting the support of the authorities to ensure success of the company, the GM of United Express said the project was conceived with the primordial goal of making a modest contribution to the success of President Biya’s    

Vision 2035 emergence plan
                For his part, the Cameroon Ambassador to China hailed the young and dynamic Mr. Kingsley for the wonderful initiative which guarantees the kind of comfort seen in Europe, Asia and America.
                Giving his blessings for the success of the project, the Ambassador called on other young Cameroonians to emulate Mr. Kingsley’s dynamism, patriotism, open-minded and enterprising nature.
                With its 10 modern buses, United Express employs 70 workers and provides over 200 indirect jobs. For now the buses ply only between Yaounde and Douala; but its services would be extended to other major towns notably Limbe, Bafoussam, Ebolowa and Ngoundere, in due course.
                With it slogan of ponctuality, cleanliness, safety and security, United Express has the ambition to become the Indomitable Lion of intercity transport in Cameroon.
