Thousands of CPDM militants and sympathizers of Fako III Buea and beyond on Friday March 24, 2017 turned out to celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the CPDM party.
The heavily attended event witnessed the presence among others of Senator MbellaMoki Charles, Buea Mayor Ekema Patrick, Governors representative Julius Tatah, Hon Emilia LifakaMonjowa, GCE Board Registrar, Humphrey Ekema, traditional authorities and a host of other personalities and denizens of Buea.
They all came out to show their support to their leader, President Paul Biya in his efforts to preserve peace and unity and achieve economic and infrastructural development.
To the Divisional leader of CPDM Fako, Hon. MonjowaLifaka Emilia, the huge turnout was eloquent testimony to the popular support the party enjoys in Buea.

Harping on the central theme for the celebration, honLifaka preached peace, unity and non-violence.
“Without peace and unity the party will crumble. I want to beg all of you to tell other youths not to burn tyres on the road because it is this same road that all of us are using….I want to promise you that every CPDM militant will have a free pass to write any concour of their choice, be it police or gendarme. Money will be made available for them with preparatory classes organized for them," she said.
According to Buea central II subsection president, comrade EssombeNjoki Samuel, "this subsection has witnessed numerous difficulties over the last month but measures have been taken to sensitize the population and militants on the need for national unity and cohesion. Without this, nothing can be achieved as peace is a priceless commodity and aids in development".
He called on the militants not to give room to rumor mongers who are creating fear through false messages on the internet".
Speaking to reporters after the event, Mayor Ekema Patrick said "the party is very much strong and ready at any moment to contest the next election and win. The role of the administrative authorities in sustaining peace and tranquility cannot be over emphasized. Without these people in the region in particular and the country at large, the quiet atmosphere we witness at the moment will not have been possible.”
However, some speakers used the occasion to denigrate administrative authorities, saying they are acting like military commanders.
The theme for this year’s celebration is “all behind Paul Biya to consolidate unity, national integration and social peace, guarantee of Cameroonians togetherness in harmony and sustainable economic performance.”
To Fako III section president, MafanyNamanga, "the theme this year is of great significance because when you have unity, you are sure to have peace and with peace you can be sure to have economic and infrastructural development ".
