Senatorial 2018:

CPDM Dumps Achidi Achu, JB Ndeh, Awanga
The Central Committee of the CPDM has flushed out former Prime Minister's candidature for the March 25, 2018 Senatorial elections. Senator Achidi Achu was dropped from the list of contenders though he submitted a list and was also heading one of the CPDM lists from the North West Region.  According to a source linked to the central committee of the CPDM, the heavyweights who were also dropped included JB Ndeh, Senator Awanga Zacharia, Senator Walang Akwo David  and Ngafeeson Emmanuel. The greatest losers will however be Achidi Achu, Walang David and Awanga Zacharie, former senators who will not go back to the senate except maybe through appointment.
The question as to who will be appointed from the North West Region has been rife. The political elite who attempted to contest but their aspirations were short-circuited are all positioning for appointments.
Of the 10 senators to come from the North West, seven will be elected while three will be appointed. The candidates who were endorsed by the CPDM Central Committee include:

Head of the list:
Regina Mundi (Mezam), Atanga Charles( Momo),
Nji Fidelis (Menchum), Emma Lafon(Bui) maintained
Dingha Ignatius (Ngoketunjia) maintained
Wanlo John (Boyo) maintained
Chebonkeng Martina( replaces late Jikong)

Achidi Achu’s downfall or the Collapse of Santa Mafia?
One of the major challenges and debate nationwide has been the capability of some elected officials (senators especially) to tackle development needs in their areas of influence. The aging political class that incessantly hangs on to power has also been considered as an obstacle to Cameroon’s emergence. Since time memorial, Northwesteners have been suffocating under the pangs of Senator Simon Achidi Achu, one time Prime Minister, Head of Government.
This situation is quite glaring if a critical judgment analysis is made on his persistent nature of always enticing the masses with his slogan of “politics na njangi”. The question that begs for an answer is whether Achidi Achu will ever give way for any other person to benefit from that “politics na njangi” concept which he planted.
This is so because the njangi politics only has meaning when he (Achidi Achu Simon) is the one to chop. Meaning, that every time you scratch his back, never look back for him to scratch your own back. On the contrary, you might receive instead a stab on the back at the time you would be expecting a scratch on your back from him.
Senator Simon Achidi Achu is said to be the political Godfather of many aspiring politicians in the NW. He is worshiped and idolized by his followers and sycophants. But many say his political gimmicks and tricks have been such that there is always a Roman Arch to keep down other potential rising politicians from excelling. To him, Santa is the entire NW region.
That is why many think that Pa Achidi Achu has played his part and should retire and maybe concentrate on writing his political story.
