Sports Minister Evaluates Impact of Covid-19 on Athletes

Mouelle Kombi has evaluated the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the sports
sector in the country as well other international completions that were to be
hosted by Cameroon.

Both
officials during the audience brainstorm on strategies that can be adopted to
maintain Cameroonian athletes in top form ahead of upcoming competitions while
respecting the barrier measures prescribed by the President of the Republic to
curb the spread of the deadly virus.

Kombi urged his collaborators to federate efforts with the NOSC in order to
bring together sports activities and sports management within the renovated
budget as a result of the health crisis.
Though
the two officials discussed on the possibility of organising an Olympic Week in
Cameroon, it was agreed that major sports will be organised in the country but
all focused will be sensitise the population on preventive measures in the face
the pandemic through means of massive communication to be done by sports
officials, icons and former and current athletes.
The
meeting also served as an opportunity for Kalkaba Malboum to present to the
Minister his appointment and that of Odette Engoulou as members of the new
composition of the 30 commissions of the International Olympic Committee (IOC)
– they were appointed and promoted at the IOC 25 May 2020.
