The North West Regional Delegate for the chamber of Commerce has promised that the region will in no distant feature benefit from projects that will propel it to industrial ranks.
MrNjankenjiNwanyama Boniface made the assurance to the press in Bamenda on April 29, 2016 few days after his brilliant reelection to head the North West Regional Delegation of the Cameroon Chamber of Commerce during an elective general assembly in Douala.
The Cameroon Chamber of Commerce is a national Chamber represented in each of the ten regions of Cameroon by a delegation. Delegations carry out their own regional programs but strive to remain within the framework of the national Chamber’s global vision. Each delegation is headed by an elected member resident in the region
Judging from the fact that the North West region has been lagging behind in terms of industrialization, MrNjankenjiNwanyama Boniface, who is also CEO of five main major companies under the BONN GROUP said the projects that have been ear marked for his three year mandate are those that will bring the region into the limelight as regards industrialization.
He cited the example of the Corn mill factory in Mankon which is ongoing and is expected to be completed in the near future. The corn mill he said will employ about 8000 workers indirectly and about 2000 directly.

As regards the marketing of products from the Corn mill Factory, he said brewery companies in Cameroon have expressed their desire to buy the products as soon as the project materializes.
Mentioned was also made of the Cassava transformation plant in Bali which will employ about 250 workers directly and 3000 indirectly.
“The activities of the plant will not only be limited to Bali but will stretch throughout the North West region and part of the South West region” MrNjankenjiNwanyama Boniface noted.
The capacity of the plant he said is “about 140 tons a day for the input and 40 tons for the output” the reason why the activities will expand to other areas.
As for the marketing of these products Njankenji Boniface revealed that the Chamber of Commerce has already signed contracts with Nestle and Diageo Guiness for the supply of the products.
Another project that will soon be implemented he said is the Palm Oil Mill Factory in Benakuma in Mechum Valley area that will use raw materials from palm oil in the soap factory. The products from the factory will flow to neighboring villages especially Nigeria.
MrNjankenjiNwanyama Boniface also added that he will during his three year mandate push for the construction of the NW Delegation of the Chamber of Commerce, the institution of a dry port in the region which so that containers from foreighcontries meant for the NWR will only be opened checked and assessed in the region.
He has therefore called on all and sundry especially business people to put hands on deck so that together they can ensure the successful execution of the projects in the region.
The Cameroon Chamber of Commerce is “a Consular Chamber representing the private sector, and is responsible for the protection of the sector’s interest vis-à-vis public authorities, states the law.
The Chamber plays the role of consultative organ representing interests linked to trade, industry, craft, mining and service provision to public authorities.
The Chamber has a number of missions which include Consultation Mission, Economic Promotion Mission and Specific Mission. As regards the Economic Promotion Mission, the Chamber “undertakes quarterly studies of the economic situation in the country and the means of increasing its prosperity. Consequently, the Chamber builds statistics on the areas of competence and conducts research on production, marketing, importing or exporting conditions, with a view to their improvement.
