Born again Christian dies mysteriously
A woman whose name we got as Mgolo Arielle has been found dead in her bedroom in the Ndogbong neighborhood in Douala. Sources say the woman’s lifeless body was discovered with a check of CFAF 6million lying beside it, with issuers name, Jesus Christ. The body was already in a state of advanced decomposition when it was found last Wednesday.
                Arielle’s neighbors revealed that they last heard her voice on the night of Saturday, 7 May 2016 when she was praying at bedtime.
                Ngolo Arielle was a Pentecostal Christian who out of frustration had challenged her mockers that she will be rich before the month of June, we learnt.

10 rendered homeless by fire
Reports from the city of Douala say 10 people were rendered homeless as a result of a fire disaster that consumed a large building containing locals and their property. The Median got from locals that they only noticed flames on the building in the late night of               Wednesday before raising an alarm.
                Occupants of the building have blamed the disaster on short circuit owing to poor electrical connections. Though no human casualty was recorded, material damage is estimated at millions of CFA francs.

Armed bandit shot in stomach
An alleged armed bandit is at present battling between life and dead after he was shot by uniform officers in Douala. Eye witness accounts say, the sad incident took place at the Douala II municipality where a gang of three armed men raided a mini shop in the New Bell neighborhood, before being intercepted by elements of the Gendarmerie. Sources say the armed bandits held the workers at gun point before an alarm was raised.
                One of the bandits was shot in the stomach while two others escaped when the military men opened fire. Meantime, the wounded bandit is receiving medical attention at a Douala-based hospital under very tight security, while investigations are still on.

35-year-old murdered in Bangem
35-year-old Roland Ebong Ewane has been murdered by armed bandits in Bangem, capital of the Kupe-Manenguba division. Reports have it that the victim was hit on the head with an axe in the morning hours of Tuesday, May 10, 2016 and died instantly.
                Late Roland Ebong’s corps was only discovered later in the afternoon when his wife came back from school. As at now, one of the arrested suspect has revealed the names of two other persons who are on the run.
                Angered with the situation and the gross insecurity plaguing Bangem, the population marched to the Bangem police station asking for the suspect to be released so that they lynch him.  Thanks to the timely intervention of the Bangem administration and the forces of law and order, the situation was addressed. Meantime, Roland Ebong Ewane’s corps is at the Tombel Hospital morgue pending burial formalities.


Voter registration intensifies in Mundemba
The deputy director of the Elections Management body in Cameroon, ELECAM, Mr. Eric Esosse, has challenged leaders of political parties across the nation to play a more vibrant role in mobilizing the population for massive registration on the voters’ list. Mr. Eric Esosse was speaking recently in Mundemba, Ndian Division of the South West Region at a ceremony to handover the voter’s card of the 6million persons already on the voter’s registration based in the Bakassi Peninsula.
                The ceremony brought together a great number of ELECAM personnel across the country, administrative officials in the Ndian Division, Traditional Authorities, Representatives of Political Parties, other stakeholders who were all urged to do more so that all eligible voters will be brought on board, especially now that voter registration period is still open to be closed officially on August 31, 2016 according to the laws guiding the electoral processes in Cameroon.

Transport fares drop along Melong-Bangem road
Transport fares in Kupe-Manenguba Division have been drastically reduced. The reduction is the fallout of an agreement between transport officials and the division’s administration.
                The Senior Divisional Officer for Kupe-Manenguba Division, Anderson Quetong recently chaired a meeting with the different operators in transport sector following rehabilitation works on the Melong-Bangem stretch of road.
                Going by the SDO, it was necessary to harmonize the transport fares and bring it to an acceptable level to all members of the community. Quetong believes the population must feel the impact of the rehabilitated road and has reiterated government’s determination to bring development closer to all citizens.
