New CBC Officers Inducted

Officers of the Cameroon Baptist Convention who were elected during the 28th General Session of the CBC that held in Bamenda from March 29 to April 2, 2016, under the theme “A church for the Community.” have officially taken over the management of the convention with the former officers applauded for their contribution to the development of the CBC.
                60 year old retired senior civil servant Yosimbom Godwill was inducted as Chairperson while 53 year old educationist, Nyanganji Job was inducted as Vice Chairperson.
                46 year old Rev Dr Paul Mokake took command as Director of Evangelism and Mission while Rev. Dr. Ndeley Samuel was inducted as Director of Christian Education Department.

                They were inducted in a crowd pulling ceremony at the Nkwen Baptist Church on Sunday September 25, 2016. Present to grace the occasion were the governor of the North West Adolf Lele Lafrique, Governor of the West regions, Awa Fonka Augustine, an envoy from the Prime Minister’s Office and other personalities.
                Prior to the induction, there was the formal rededication of Rev. Ncham Godwil as the Executive President of the CBC. After serving for four years, he was re-elected General Session.
                While sending forth the former officers comprising of Chebonkeng Joseph and Justice Betty Luma who served for two mandates of fours as Chairperson and vice respectively likewise Rev. Dr Fimba Felix who served as Director of Theological and Christian Education for 10 years, Rev. Ncham Godwill thanked them for their dynamism and the institution of “proportional giving”.
                The induction and dedication sermon was delivered by Rev Mbunwe Goerge who preached on the theme “leading God’s people God’s way”. 
                Drawing inspiration from the Holy Bible book of Acts 20: 17-35, Rev Mbunwe Goerge urged faithfuls and the inducted/rededicated to serve God with great humility and to “keep watch of their selves and the flock”.
                Speaking at the dedication and induction ceremony, Governor Adolf Lele Lafrique lauded the CBC for their contribution in molding the morals of Cameroonians and for the feats in the educational and health domain.
                On behalf of President Paul Biya and the people of the North West region, he promised government’s support to all their initiatives.
                Founded in 1954, the Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) comprises 28 Administrative Units, 3 Missionary Areas, 876 organized churches with a membership of over 100,000 registered Christians. The Convention operates 5 Departments; the Evangelism and Missions, Christian Education, Education, Health, and Finance and Development Departments.
