Youths
across Meme Division, Southwest Region has elected a new Youth Council
President. The election that saw Abwa Bernard Takang emerge as president took
place at the conference hall of the Meme Divisional Delegation of Youth Affairs
and Civic Education, in Kumba on Saturday March 3, 2018.
The 14 man new executive to head the
divisional youth council was voted into office by their peers from the five
Sub-Divisions; Mbonge, Konye, Kumba I, II and III. The election held under the
watchful eyes of the Second Assistant Senior Divisional Officer, ASDO, Hermia
Njonje. The ASDO advised the new executive and the other youths who turned out
for the elections to be law abiding as they actively participate in their
various functions.
On his part, the newly elected Meme
Youth Council President promised to do all it takes to ensure that he and his
peers work within the ambit of the law.
It should be noted here that Abwa
Bernard emerged president after beating Ntuba Humphrey in the elections with 15
votes as against 7. He takes over the helm of the Youth Council in the Division
from Eseme Moses.
