Civilo-Military Cooperation:

Army Donates Benches to Schools in Manyu
The Cameroon Army through the National Gendarmerie Corps has donated some 250 desks to some six primary and secondary schools in Mamfe, headquarters of Manyu division.
According to the Legion Commander of the Gendarmerie for the SW, this civilo-military cooperation is very important and falls within the recommendations of the head of state, Paul Biya, for the defence forces to be people-friendly.

“This is to demonstrate to the population that we are here to defend and protect them against the enemies of the state, and not to fight them. It is also aimed to alleviate the living conditions of the locals.”

According to statistics from the divisional delegation for secondary education for Manyu, the secondary and high schools in Manyu registered about 3000 new students for the new school year 2019/2020.               This adds to the over 2000 pupils in presently attending nursery and primary schools in the division.
This increase in the school attendance is a sign of the progressive return to peace and normalcy in the division, notes the Gendarmerie Legion Commander.
