The government of China has donated a consignment of items as her own way to support Cameroon in the humanitarian assistance programme to assist internally displaced persons in the crisis-hit Anglophone regions and other parts of the country. The items worth FCFA 1.6 billion comprised basic necessities, medical and technical equipment like, sleeping materials, make-shift tents, food items, medical equipment including ambulances and pick up vehicles.
The items which are kept at the warehouse of the Military Engineering Centre in Douala was inspected by Minister Paul Atanga Nji of Territorial Administration Minister who doubles as the National Coordinator of the humanitarian assistance programme Wednesday 8 January 2020.

“We have the ambulances, vehicles, and all the other technical equipment so we brought medical doctors to come and see them. We have other complicated equipment which will be used by medical doctors. It was necessary for us to came and look at these equipment to see how we can dispatch them to the needy population”, he said while saluting the contributions made by Cameroon’s international partners.
Atanga Nji Minister enjoined all partners working to assist Cameroon in the crisis to ensure to work within the ambits of the law. “They cannot work efficiently if they don’t have the support of the local administrative authorities. We need checks and balances. We must control and see what they are doing in the field. If they are leaving here to go to Bamenda… if they are going to Buea we should” Atanga said, indicating that the items would be dispatched to the concern regions and the needy population in the weeks ahead.
