Committees Created To Fast-Track Kba’s Dev’t

Five committees have been created at the Kumba City Council
with a motive to speedily transform the town into a modern city. The Committees
were put in place during a council session Thursday 10 March 2020. The
committees were created with the support of the 75 Grand Councils that make up
the deliberative arm of the council. Committee heads and members were
designated following proposals from the three Councils.
Barrister
Andy Tabi emerged head of the Resolution and Motions Committee with Henry Tabot
as the Secretary General. Eyong Elias heads the Social and Economic Committee,
Oben Serah Heads the Social and Education Committee with Nana Gladys Shalo as
Secretary General while Fofuh Martin is head of the Economic Promotion Committee
with Bello Mohammed as Secretary and John Egbe to chair of the Finance
Committee with Epande Robinson as Secretary.
Prior
to the creation Committees, Victor Ngoh Nkelle expressed delight working with
the 75 councillors all drawn from the CPDM. He said there was no time for them
to work now and he promised adopting an open door policy to all proposals that
would help better Kumba. The session was coordinated by the Secretary General
of the Council, Arrey Nkongho Charles under the watchful eyes of First Assistant
SDO, Nguime Joseph.
