Anglophone Elites React

It Is Sheer Stupidity

If it is not stupidity then I should say it is sheer cowardice for any Anglophone, and a South Westerner for that matter to want to become Speaker of the National Assembly at this time. Does it stem from half education or what? I think it is high time people submerged their selfish interests and put the interests of the nation in front. When you clamour to become president of the National Assembly, how is that going to help Anglophones? The times are very crucial, and we have a capable Prime Minister who has done so much in such a little time, struggling to make things better for Cameroonians and the Anglophones in particular. When some small quantities say they want to become president of the Assembly, I think it is sheer selfishness and foolishness. People should stop chasing the wind because it is not going to work. And if I may ask, why is this coming only when the PM is not coming from Fako? Or is it written somewhere that a PM from the SW should only come from Fako? I think those who are behind this devilish plot should be reminded that President Biya is knowledgeable and experienced enough and he knows what is good for the Anglophones.

Anglophones are satisfied with the PM’s Office

Anglophones have never clamoured for the post of Speaker of the House of Assembly or Senate. For us as Anglophones, the one most important position that we need, is the Office of PM. Therefore, any Anglophone who thinks otherwise and is aspiring to accede to any position that will jeopardize the position of the sitting PM, is engaging in a devilish plot, and that is tantamount to witch-craft in broad daylight. And the SW as an entity, and their ancestors, will pass judgment on any individual who will decide to engage in such a plot, and that individual will be isolated. As far as I am concerned, the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute, is doing a marvelous job. He has brought honour and pride to Anglophones in general, and the SW region in particular.

The PM’s Office Is Diamond for Anglophones

It is normal to hear of speculations and lobbies whenever elections at the Assembly or Senate are coming up. During this period you would always here of manoevres and schemes, with every segment of the national divide saying it is their time to have this or that position. But as an Anglophone I would at any time, prefer the post of PM to either President of Assembly or Senate. The PM’s Office is like Diamond for Anglophones, and we should not afford to lose it for any other office, except maybe the office President of the republic. The PM can do many things for his people than either the Speaker of the Senate or Assembly. Though the Senate president is the second personality of the state, and the Assembly Speaker the third personality, I think the PM’s Office is still a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
