Kumba Women Shun Fear, Celebrate Women’s Day

Women in Kumba shunned separatist imposed ghost town to celebrate the 35th edition of the International Women’s Day I style last 8 March under the theme “Promoting Gender and protecting Women's right by 2030: taking stock of actions undertaken, setting a new course”. The Women clad in their Women's day loin march past in front grandstand were being cheered up by the massive crowd that turn out for the celebration.
                Speaking during the celebration, Enow Ayukanda, Divisional Delegate for Women's Empowerment and the Family said since 2019 Cameroon has developed its own policy which centers on Women's living conditions and legal status.

                She hailed strides made in the valorization of female human resources in all its sectors, the effective participation of women in decision making, the promotion and protection of the girl child, the fight against violence on women and the improvement for the Women's effective integration in development.
                She recounted that women are endowed with a lot of potential especially looking at their increase in representation in Parliament to 31% with a promising 20% at the Senate and 33 women as Mayors. Ayukanda said women are the pivot on which the peace in the home revolves.
                The celebration was under the watchful eyes of First Assistant Meme SDO, Nguime Joseph who also joined his voice to congratulate the women for shunning fear to massively participate in the celebration.
