New Mayors for Meme Councils

A new page has been opened for the five councils that makeup Meme Division on the ticket of the CPDM party. This follows separate council sessions that held Tuesday 25 February 2020 to elect new Mayors and their deputies to pilot the affairs of the councils for the next five years.
            The election at the Kumba I council rounded up with Barrister Eseme Moses Esembe emerging as Mayor with all 25 votes cast to his favour. He will be assisted by Lobe Sarah Ndoh and Besingi Nilale as 1st and 2nd deputies respectively.
            At the Kumba II Council, Mbatchu Jacob Kay, Section President of the CPDM party for Meme IB was unanimously voted Mayor. He will be assisted by Ibrahim Nasiru Audu as 1st Deputy and Vivian Aigona Chibili as second.
            Isaac Mukwelle Nguba, Pharmacist cum CPDM Section President for Meme IC emerged Mayor of Kumba III with all 25 votes cast to his favour. He will be assisted by Jonas Nsongo Ndiba, YCPDM Section President as 1st Deputy and Ngassa Noupeu Josephine Eleanor, Sub-Director in the Ministry of Finance as 2nd Deputy.

            Elections in Mbonge and Konye had no major changes as the two incumbents were maintained. Barrister Dr. Musima George Lobe was re-elected as Mayor of Konye. He won his opponent, Ndima Joseph Oyoh, by 27 votes as against 8. He will be assisted by Bangume Robinson, Mandi Lawrence Balimba, Sakwe Dorothy Mande and Besingi David Ikoh as 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th deputies respectively.
            In Mbonge, Chief Daniel Matta Mokambe who completed the mandate of his late predecessor was elected as Mayor.
            The elections unfolded under the watchful eyes of Meme SDO, Ntou'ou Ndong Chamberlin, who, shuttled between the various councils to monitor the process.
            For the first time since 2007 the CPDM party has taken over control of all three councils in Kumba metropolis. The party is also in control of the two parliamentary seats in Meme.
