Limbe II council Envisages a “New Limbe”

The mayor of Limbe 11 council Duncan A. Molindo says he will win the 2018 municipal election with his councilors if they put aside their personal interest and come together as one people to face the political challenges in the region to realize what he called the “NEW LIMBE”.

            “Let us not look at the period the mayor has served but rather we should look at the achievements the councilors and mayor have so far realized within their mandate,” said Mayor Duncan to inhabitants of Limbe11.

            He was speaking on Thursday may 17 at the Limbe 11 council chambers in Mokundange during a council session to examine and adopt the administrative, management and stores accounts of the municipality for 2017. He said the accounts are balanced in revenue and expenditure at the sum of 523,100,000FRS. The accounts showed a net revenue collection of fcfa 325,626,876 and a total expenditure of 324,055,415FRS giving an excess of 1.571.461FRS.

            As for projects realized in 2017, the mayor mentioned notably the rehabilitation of the Karata-Botaland road, the construction of a perimeter fence round the land situate near the Red Cross earmarked for the construction of a conference center among others.

            After adopting the accounts as balanced in revenue and expenditure, the Limbe11 councilors read a motion of support to the head of state asking him to stand in the 2018 election. They equally thanked the head of state for the creation of the ministry of decentralization and rural development and the appointment of one of theirs, Dr. Nalova Lyonga as minister of secondary education.

            Reminding the councilors of the need for more commitment and dedication, the mayor urged them to learn from the mistakes of the last year.

            Mayor Duncan equally used the opportunity to thank the supervisory authority, the SDO, for his untiring engagement in maintaining peace in the sub-division.

            The first ASDO, Bejidi Otto 11 Richard Williams, who represented the Fako SDO, commended the mayor and councilors for their efforts towards developing the seaside municipality. He called on them to weather the storm and rise up to the challenge of making their municipality the “New Limbe” they want.
