HTTTC Kumba Student Goes Missing
A student of the Higher Technical Teachers Training College, HTTTC Kumba has gone missing. The student who hails from the Bakossi clan in Kupe Muanenguba Division of the Southwest Region according to reports was whisked away by some military men at the entrance to the Government Bilingual Teachers Training College towards the entrance to their residence.
            Family members have launched a manhunt for the whereabouts of the said student to no avail. It should be noted that the family members have visited the Kumba central police station, the Buea road Gendarmerie brigade in Kumba but the missing student is nowhere to be found.
            According to some of his friends he was actually standing by the roadside while a military pickup vehicle heading in the direction of the Kumba District Hospital stopped and whisked him away. The incident has left his family in total confusion. They have reported the matter to the Meme SDO.

Gendarme’s lifeless body found in Ndian
The lifeless body of a Gendarmerie officer whose name we got as Takang Elvis has been found few days after he was kidnapped by unknown persons.  The Gendarme officer, who was working in Ekondo-Titi, was kidnapped along with his girlfriend on 8 May 2018, in Lipenja.
            His lifeless body was only found on Thursday 10 May 2018. At the moment, no one knows the motive behind his murder. Investigations have been opened to track down his killers.


Gunmen attack Muyuka Police Station, free detainees
Unknown men on the night of Wednesday May 9 attacked the Muyuka police station and set detainees at the police station free. This was after a heavy gunfire exchange with the police officers on duty. The attackers also attacked and ransacked the Muyuka DO’s office. The residence of a man was set ablaze. We gathered that the man is suspected to be a spy for the Yaoundé regime.

Kidnapped Konye Police inspector Released
The chief of the Konye Police identification post, Inspector of Police Ekiti Ewang Christopher, who was kidnapped and taken to an unknown destination by unknown persons on 6 May 2018, has been released. He was released by his abductors on Thursday 10 May. A source in Konye told this reporter that before his abduction, inspector Ekiti Ewang had been advised to leave the town but he refused to heed the threat.
