K’ba Populations Dancing To Gunshot Tunes

Amba Boys are said to be announcing their presence with regular gunshots by day and by night

Kumba inhabitants on the evening of Thursday May 17, 2018 ran helter-skelter into different directions following sporadic gunshots that inundated the town. Gunshots were heard from different areas with some suggesting it was around the commonwealth avenue and the Mbonge road neighbourhood.

            No one knew why the shots were fired though some persons suggested the shots that left many fleeing was from the forces of law and order with intensions of scaring away persons to their homes. Others indicated it was intended to scare away those making frantic efforts to disrupt the national day celebrations in Kumba.

At least 50 villages razed in NW & SW.

            Since the escalation of the Anglophone crisis, more than fifty villages have been affected by fire in all the areas where clashes between Cameroon’s defense and security forces and elements of the pro-separatists movement popularly referred to as the ‘Ambazonia’ defense forces. Such villages that have either been completely or partially burnt down, leaving many Cameroonians as refugees in neighbouring Nigeria or as internally displaced persons. These villages include; Kwakwa, Boa Bakundu, Bole Bakundu, DipendaBakundu, Big Ngwandi, Bakumba, Bokosso, Nake, Kombone mission, Kake I, Kake II, Bekondo, Big Massaka, Nganjo, Foe Bakundu, Ekombe, Small Ekombe, Ediki, Kuke, Ebonji, Etam, Nguti, Mongo ndor, Bello, Anjang, Angin, Anyagwa, Azi, Kumbo, DotiNobi, Kugwe, Ambo, Efah, Kumku, Ashong, Ngie, Kembong, Ejeke, Mbene, Bati-Numba, Kagifu, Dadi, Gurifen, Muyenge, Bafia, Ekwe, Kumbe-Balue, EkonaMombo, Batibo, Bafut, Mbalangi, Oshie, Baingo, Bombelembonge, Kumukumu, Bangele, Konye, Guzang, Widikum, Babadiehka.
