K’ba 1 Mayor Laments Low Revenue Collection
-Says Anglophone Crisis is to blame

The Mayor of Kumba I council has revealed that the ongoing socio-political tension in the Northwest and Southwest Regions is responsible for slowing down revenue collection at the council thereby negatively affecting the realisation of council projects in the municipality.
            Mayor Ebako Abel Ndoh made the revelation on Friday May 4, 2018 at the Kumba I council hall during the extraordinary council session devoted for the examination of the 2017 administrative and stores management accounts.
            While presenting the balance sheet of the council activities, Mayor Ebako revealed that out of the Kumba I council budget that was drawn to balance in revenue and expenditure at the tune of Six hundred and eighty nine million, six hundred thousand (689 600 000 francs, only three hundred and sixty eight million eight hundred fifteen million two hundred and seventeen francs (368 800 217) was effectively collected noting that it was too low due to the socio-political crisis pledging the our regions.
            Out of the above amount collected, Mayor Ebako revealed three hundred fifteen million, five hundred and sixteen thousand seven hundred and ninety seven francs (315 516 797) was spent giving a percentage realisation of 53.5%.

            Going by the projects realised, the Mayor cited the maintenance and realisationof farm-to-market roads, rehabilitation of the Bafaw Palace museum, cleaning, opening and digging along water ways, construction of classrooms, culverts, opening of new roads, parking lots, support for schools amongst sundry others. The Mayor also revealed plans for the construction of a guest house at the tune of 340 million francs and the construction of a befitting market to cost FCFA One billion.
            The councilors on their part, revealed that they will continue to stand firm behind the development strides of their Mayor, Ebako Abel Ndoh, in order to continue witnessing the transformation of Kumba I municipality. They congratulated his brilliance in the management of council affairs and for his relentless efforts in transforming the municipality.
            The session was witnessed by the Second Assistant SDO for Meme, Hermia Njonje who revealed the attachment that government has for the decentralization process and urged the Mayor and councilors to do more in order to bring much needed development to the people of Kumba I.
