By a correspondent
Rev. Father William Neba
Rev. Father William Neba was abducted by yet unidentified gunmen as he was saying mass at the Christ the King Parish at St. Bedes College, Ashing, Kom, Boyo Division, in the early morning of Monday, 30 April.
Reports said students of the College had gathered for the usual morning devotion when the gunmen on motorbikes arrived at the scene and made for the rostrum. They first picked up the Chaplin of the school but later set him free when they realized that he was not the person they had come for, according to the reports.
The gunmen will later grab the Principal of the College, Rev. Father William Neba, and pull him out of the Church. And all of these was taking place under the watchful eyes of the students of the school.

Reports said the gunmen would immediately speed off, taking along the Rev. Father, whose present whereabouts is yet unknown.
The news of the abduction spread like wild fire throughout the NW region, the reports said.
The Bishop of the Bamenda Diocese and the SDO of Boyo Division would arrive at the school minutes later. But it was late. The damage had been done.
Hearing the frightening news, parents of students rushed in from all directions to take home their children, pending subsequent decisions by the school’s authorities.
We learnt that the incident comes at a time when terminal year students were preparing for GCE exams and students of junior classes preparing for promotion exams.
