Members of the Meme Divisional post national dialogue caravan have begged separatist fighters and the population to reconsider the recommendations of the major national dialogue and embrace peace measures put up by the government to resolve the crisis.
The appeal was made Tuesday 19 November 2019 at the Kumba City Council hall in a post dialogue sensitisation meeting chaired by Senator Otte Mofa Andrew following the unavoidable absence of the chairman, Lordship Agapitus Nfon, Bishop of Kumba Diocese.
The delegation while explaining what was discussed at the level of the various commissions at the dialogue in Yaounde noted all the recommendations made were frank and sincere and aimed at ensuring return to lasting peace.

Majority of the participants expressed their disappointment in the strategies put forward by government resolve the crisis despite knowing exactly what to do and reiterated that the release of Ayuk Tabe and co, plus all other Anglophones incarcerated in line with the crisis, withdrawal of government forces from the Anglophone regions and other will be first positive step toward ending the crisis.
“If the government can forgive Yannick Kawa and other ex-combatants who have kidnapped and killed both civilians and military, then it is reasonable enough to release all other persons incarcerated in line with the armed conflict.” a participant stated.
Sub committees were tasked to move into the five subdivisions in Meme to preach peace and sensitise the population on the dialogue resolutions and the need for peace following the announced Special Status to the two regions. The committees which many believe won’t be able to make it some of the subdivisions to meet those concern because of separatist scare were given financial support to assist them in their mission.
Victor Ngoh Nkelle, Government Delegate to the Kumba city council in the course of the meeting revealed that separatist activities are fast coming to an end in Kumba. He said insecurity is mostly perpetrated at the moment by criminals and not those directly involve in separatist. “We can all begin to agree that the major national dialogue brought peace almost immediately… what we observe at the moment is more of criminality on the rise and very little to do with Amba boys” Ngoh said while praising security officers for ensuring not relenting their effort in ensuring the safety of Kumba inhabitants.
